How do you reduce, reuse and recycle at your home or school?
That was the question posed to us by the Blog Challenge09, and we intend to answer that question. In January, we had a Recycling Fair at our school. Each class prepared a poster and targeted one way in which we could reduce, reuse, and recyle. Parents were invited and the community has since started a recycling center.
On March 28th @ 8:30 we have another chance to help our planet by taking part in Earth Hour. We need you to commit to turning off your lights for one hour.
Have you ever wonder just how many lights are used around the entire world? How much energy could we save if we just turned them off when we are not using them?
Click on the bulb below to take a closer look at all the lights. Then tell me one thing you could plan to do in the dark at 8:30 p.m. Saturday night, March 28th.
We have a worm farm at school and we use the left over lunch food to feed the worm farms. We then use the worm tee/waste to feed the plants in our school garden. We also have recycling of paper and have a school environmental group – but I love the fair idea I think its very clever.

Your class is to be admired for all the conservation projects that you maintain. I know that your students are learning a great deal of responsibility along the way. They are destined to be respected adults some day.
That lightbulb link is cool.
Hi!
I’m here with two students, Carolina and Patricia. We are thinking we could play a game on the dark: “Dark room” it’s the Portuguese name for it; it’s the game Lucy was playing with her brothers when she found the passage to Narnia, only we will play in the dark.

I am glad that you mentioned Narnia. I love that movie and have not watched it in a while. Yes that would be a good game to play in the dark.
Wow!your lightbulb is neat.On March 28th at 8:30 I will have my lights out and my eyes close.
I like your light bulb! I will have my lights out and I think I might take a walk with my husband.
An excellent use of an hour I think! Please share our link to others that you blog with so that we can share the work we are doing. My students are amazed when we receive visitors from all over the world. Perhaps we will receive visitors from every source of light in that picture on our site.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the lovely message on my teacher blog. Your class is already linked to it. If you scroll right to the bottom of the blog you will aee your blog listed in my teacher blogroll.
I am also the teacher of the Junior Crew web site that you visit.
I do remember that, Sue. I would really like to stay in touch with you. I am going to be getting three autistic students next year and would like to give your blog to them if you don’t mind. I have only met these students once for a short time. I know it will be both challenging and rewarding to work with them next year. Do you have a twitter name?
Our class has a twitter account – coconnections
Thanks for your visit to our blog.
We would also like to be on your blog list and will be adding this awesome site to ours.
Love the ideas on here and we will be visiting again very soon.

Keep up the great work with your blog. I look forward to sharing your work with my class and ICT Citizenship Group.
